Chapter One

Kali:

The city's underbelly pulsed with secrets, and I moved through its shadows like a specter. My name, whispered in fear, preceded me. I was no ordinary woman; I was death incarnate - Kali, the death, the end, and at times, very rarely, the new beginning.

I received a call informing me that my team member's sister has disappeared. I knew the culprit—the notorious gangster, Atul. His arrogance had led him to believe he could toy with life and death. But I was no mere mortal; I was the balance between them. Striking with Kali is a dangerous game and now he would be given what he deserved.

I loaded my pistol with practiced precision, the weight of it familiar in my hand. The call for breakfast echoed through the house, but I ignored it. I had a different appetite—one for justice.

"Madam, your breakfast is ready," the servant insisted.

"Not now," I replied, slipping into the waiting car. The driver needed no further instructions; he knew the destination—the heart of Atul's empire.

Atul's mansion loomed ahead, guarded by loyal thugs. I stepped out of the car, my eyes scanning the surroundings. I was a ghost in the daylight, my purpose clear. Atul had no idea what awaited him.

Inside, I found him lounging on a velvet sofa, his wife hovering nearby. Surprise flickered across her face, but she recovered quickly. Atul's phone buzzed, a call from his men, no doubt.

"Kali," he said, feigning nonchalance.

"Atul, you made a big mistake," I retorted, my voice icy. My gang materialized, surrounding him and restraining him. I leveled my revolver at his temple.

"If you shoot me, that girl will meet a tragic end," Atul warned, desperation in his eyes.

I chuckled. "Call your men. Order them to release her, or face your own demise."

Atul dialed, barking orders. "Make sure that girl suffers before she dies. Show no mercy," he commanded over the phone, his face paling the next second, making me smirk.

"I feel sorry for you, Atul. I gave you a chance to prove your worthiness to live. But you failed. Did you really think Kali would leave her people at the mercy of others? That girl is already safe at home. But you..." I paused, savoring the moment, enjoying his fear.

The gunshot echoed through the room as I stepped back. Atul crumpled, blood staining the carpet. He had invited his own death by crossing paths with me—the one who danced on the edge of life and oblivion.

And me? I vanished into the shadows, leaving behind a room filled with the scent of gunpowder and the taste of retribution. Justice had been served, and death had claimed its due.

As I entered my house, I received a call from Kalki - the dangerous Mafia man, ruthless and a symbol of fear. Nobody wants to encounter him, as he treats women as mere possessions. He enjoys one-night stands and believes one woman is not enough to satisfy his desires. What a horrible pervert! Sadly, now his eyes fell on me. He probably thinks I will beg for mercy by offering myself to him, but no. I am Kali, not his possession.

"Hello, Kali, how are you? I am dying to feel my hands dancing on your bare body and savor you alive. You are such an irresistible beauty," Kalki's voice dripped with malice, making my skin crawl.

"Shut the fu*k up, Kalki. You can't even lay a finger on me. Come out of your dreams and run for your life. Soon, I will find you, and then you will see whether your hands dance over me or my revolver dances over your body, embracing you with death," I retorted, my voice steady with resolve.

"This is why I am crazy for you. I want those lips to moan my name, melting in my touch and fire of desire. Kali, tell me one thing. Why would you love a man with no feelings for you? Instead of begging him, accept me and I will show you heaven," Kalki persisted, blind to my rejection.

"You'll never understand why I love him. I owe you no explanations," I replied firmly, ending the call in frustration.

Soon, I should find a solution for this. No one knows his residence as he keeps on changing it and his mobile number too. He's the most wanted mafia don, but until now no one has reached him. Anyone who wished to catch him got killed. Hardly, I received his photo through my source and am searching for him, but it's of no use.

"Madam, there's shocking news. Arnav is marrying someone today," my personal assistant said, and I rushed to the place.

The wedding hall was adorned with exquisite decorations, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The bridegroom, filled with anticipation, awaited the moment when he would tie the knot with his chosen bride. But fate had other plans.

The priest started chanting the sacred mantras to embark on the new journey of the bride and groom and to send the evil forces away.

But they had no idea that the evil herself would go there, my eyes ablaze with determination. I brandished a revolver, its cold metal pressed against the bride's temple. The room fell silent, the air thick with tension. I smirked, looking at Arnav and my gang already restrained him.

"What's this, my love? How could you get married without me? Don't you need the loving bride to tie the knot?" I said, adding sarcasm to my tone.

"Madam," the bride's father pleaded, "please spare my daughter."

But my obsession knew no bounds. I had claimed the bridegroom as mine from the moment I laid eyes on him. Love, desire, and possession intertwined within me, driving me to desperate measures.

"You should have considered this before arranging the alliance," I retorted, my voice unwavering. "He belongs to me. My love, my obsession, and my everything."

Ignoring the pleas around me, I issued the ultimatum. "This is your final chance. Run, bride, run."

The bride fled, escaping my wrath in a desperate sprint. Wow, she's intelligent!

Arnav confronted me. "What madness is this? I don't love you. Why don't you understand me?"

My grip tightened on his collar pulling him close to me. "It doesn't matter. You are mine. I claim you."

Our lips collided, a fierce kiss that defied reason. Arnav's resistance crumbled within no time; desire consumed us both. His hands found my hips, pulling me closer, and for that stolen moment, we forgot the world. His lips on mine ignited a fierce craving for more. His hands on my hips stirred a longing for permanence. Despite keeping others at bay, this man had seized my heart with his love. While he might not understand my obsession, I knew exactly what he meant to me. With his closeness setting my body ablaze, I yearned to surrender myself to him entirely, relishing every moment of his touch.

How's this episode? I want to clarify one thing. Though this is a story of Mafia, still I can assure you that there won't be unnecessary action parts, bloodshed or illegal activities. There are some major twists which I can't reveal now but I can tell you one thing that this is a story of a girl who fights for herself, her love, life and family. Story has deep emotions and feelings that explains true love and throws light on some problem in the society (as my every story has). Feel free to let me know your opinion through comments.
